About Me

Tired of everyday and monotonous life, I decided to change!
I left a six-and-a-half-year job and I locked up my business administration course last year in Curitiba in southern Brazil and I came to Dublin in Ireland, to do an exchange and to learn English and to travel to Europe.

I live here for almost a year (November / 2018), in the last three months I am living in a hostel, where I identified myself with the place and I am happy to share the daily life with about fifty people, and the room with three more people (French and a Greek and a Brazilian guys). I have had the opportunity to get to know some of the main points of the city, several pubs (I am a beer lover) and some places frequented by locals (which is my passion in every place I go). Besides making lots of friends! I have had the opportunity to known Paris in France and London in England, fantastic experience. My next trips will be to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Barcelona in Spain (among these I will spend a few days in Brazil to visit family and old friends).

Annually my English classes are on weekdays in the afternoon and I work in a restaurant in the morning from Wednesday to Saturday. My nights to enjoy the parties until late are from Sunday to Tuesday which is when I'm off from my job (although in Dublin the night ends early). I spend these nights drinking beer, meeting friends, knowing new pubs or parties (Whenever possible, I'd rather go to a place I've never been). On other days I usually practice physical exercises like running in the park and cycling around the city, studying English and going to public talks to practice the language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The big reason why I'm in couchsurfing is what I've been describing in the texts above. My great passion for the local daily. I believe that only couchsurfing can give me that experience. Being able to meet local people or stay at the home of local people is the best possible experience that I can expect and what couchsurfing will provide me.

Interests

Currently my focus is to improve my English and meet people and know places all over Europe. I am very interested in daily life and local culture. Everywhere I visit, I try to know what everyday life is like and what those people normally do on a daily basis. That fascinates me. And all the people I have the opportunity to meet and talk about, I try to get to know and hear about life experiences and also share mine.

I like to talk about everything with an open mind.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, lately I've heard a lot of electronic music. Looking to know more!
But I like all kinds of music (it's true). I listen from classical music to pop music. Going through some genres that appeal to me a lot like reggae, folk, soul, blues, rap, hip-hop. A gift you can give me? Suggest me a good music or a good album to listen to on spotify.

Books, I am currently reading The Commitments of Roddy Doyle, famous Irish writer. To improve English and get to know the Irish daily. There I read some classics like The Art of War and The Little Prince, and some books of Brazilian literature that I like very much. Another aspect that shines through my eyes are books related to psychology and the study of human behavior.

Movies, movies. Everyone likes to watch a good movie, including me. I do not have a favorite genre. But it captivates me some of the terror, the suspense and the drama. I'm not in the habit of watching movies periodically, but it's always a good option!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting rid of everything and everyone and coming to live this experience in Europe is the most incredible thing I've ever done!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a little about photography, as I did a course for amateur photographers, like focusing an image on a camera, for example. A little bit about music, I studied music during school for six years and I played trombone, show some musical scales in the fa clef. And I played basketball all school, so I can teach you how to heat the ball.
Learn? Everything I can learn will always be valid. Currently my focus is to learn English. But everything you can teach me, such as cooking a different dish, will always be very welcome!
Share, life experiences. This I think is the most precious possession that each has and can add to the life of each other. But of course I also agree to share a pizza or a pack of beers for drinking, eating and talking at home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unfortunately I can not offer hosting at the moment because I live in a hostel and I divide my room with three more people. The housing crisis in Dublin is very large nowadays and the biggest difficulty here is housing, the great majority of them share a room and in some cases even a bed to live in!
