About Me

About Me:
I love the woods, beetles, nerdy science things and making things with my hands. I work online as a blogger so get to make my own schedule. I start to go slightly crazy if I don't travel somewhere new or escape into the mountains occassionally.

I've come to realize that many of the "dangerous" things in life regarding people interactions are the best ones. Like how it is "dangerous" to take in total strangers from the street, or "dangerous" to hitchhike. Sure, there might be some danger there -- but the reward is much much greater than the risk! And I'm not going to live my life in fear. Living in fear is much more dangerous than the actual risks which are out there!!!

Some other random stuff:
-I have two daughters. One was born in 2010 and the other in 2018.
-I'm vegan. But will be the first to tell you to try kajmak, paprika u pavlici, and other local specialties
-I am really domestic. I've even been given the nickname "domacica"
-I am not Serbian. But, after 15 years living here, I feel more Serbian than American.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on CS since 2006. I think it's a great tool for connecting people and letting them get a firsthand glance into the culture and lives of people around the world. I have also come to realize that hosting people (whether through CS or refugees on the street) is an easy way to make a big difference. Our small actions really do make an impact. You never know when you've changed someone's life, and how they will change others' lives!
