About Me

Active in social issues, humble in learning new things, dreaming of travelling around the world

Note: I'm heading to the Europe as an exchange student for a half of year (2020.1.18-2020.8.31), so please don't send me requests for these dates.

To those who may concern:

Taiwan is NOT a province of China. Taiwan is an independent country with its own president, law, territory, and people.

Taiwan is the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage. The ranking of freedom and women rights in Taiwan are rated as the highest among all the Asian countries by Freedom House. If Taiwan were part of China, all the above would definitely not happen.

But please don't misunderstand me as an anti-China person. I have many friends from China and I love Chinese literatures. If you want to know more about this, I can share a lot with you. (the issues on post-colonialism in Asia)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people sharing stories with each other. I like this kind of way to explore the very unknown world.

Interests

I'm good at playing Go Chess. If you want to know more about it, I'm very much willing to share info with you (as well as teach you how to play it).

I'm fond of history and culture. I was born in the cultural capital, Tainan, and fascinated by the historical relics and the cultures left by the previous generations. When I go abroad for a trip, I usually go deep into the historical background of the place and try to seize the chance to have a conversation with the locals. In addition to the nature view and the architecture, the "people" is the most crucial part for me in terms of travelling.

I'm active in social movements and I'm very much open to any different opinions. Taiwan is the first Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage, and if you're interested in gender issues, I believe we can have a nice discussion on them.

In my free time, I like to take some random photos and write some poems or simply write down some words to relieve my emotions. I enjoy digesting what I receive and creating my own works.

Now, I'm studying linguistics and planning to get a Master degree of it (maybe PhD in the future).
