About Me

I’m an extroverted, friendly guy who has always loved discovering new places, meeting locals, and just seeing the world. I have a great group of friends that are probably the best thing about me, 2 sweet older dogs, and a house that’s a constant project:). I’ve been a flight attendant for the last 22 years (as of November 2019), divorced after 13 years (also, sadly, in 2019), and will go to the scariest looking dive bar or restaurant if you tell me they have good food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my favorite parts of traveling is getting to meet local people. I had the best times hanging out at local bars and cafes and getting recommendations from people for things I should see and do the next day. A friend just recommended Couchsurfing and says it’s been a great experience. He says it’s a great way to travel and avoid staying in another tourist hotel, which sounds great to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love going to small bars and listening to local bands. More in the folk music to jazz side then the heavy metal or rap side. When I’m home I like to go to record stores and look for jazz vocals and R&B from about the ‘40’s to the ‘70’s. I love all sorts of movies from Sci-Fi to comedy to mysteries. Same for books. I loved Harry Potter and am currently reading ‘We Were the Lucky Ones’, about a Polish Jewish family during WW II.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped raise my nephew. Not really amazing but it’s what I’m most proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m not sure what I can teach you but I’m happy to pop open a bottle of wine and talk about it. While we’re chatting, if you like to cook, let’s start chopping things and see what we come up with:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m not sure what should go here. My friendly nature? My willingness to vacuum? Bourbon?
