ABOUT ME

love meeting people ,creating a model railway, showing people my island's wild life ,walking my dogs ,fishing ,and teaching people of all ages how to fish.Most of all I like to see the look on their faces when they see the first koala!

PHILOSOPHY

My aim in life is to wear out not rust out.live and let live .bullies will pay for bad deeds.we are here to live ,learn, give, help,care.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

People are welcome to stay I have two free bedrooms. I can spend time to show them around or leave them to explore the many walking tracks.I also have time to drive them to areas of intrest.I would like my visitors to stay at least Three days!!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not "couch surfed" but I have had many a traveler stay with me .two swiss girls that run out of money riding motor bikes from Darwin down the west coast across the Nullabore plain ,they ran out of petrol money and food in the town of Bairnsdale sitting on the curb crying .they stayed at my house for two weeks boating ,fishing four wheel driving bush walking "the best part of the whole trip down under"I have had about seventy people stay here singles couples family group even one girl with a cat

Interests

Most I have listed above,old engines ,dogs ,cats ,animals .Trains ,cars old and new ,learning ,teaching kids ,food ,building a model train layout ,fishing, bush walking (limited by health problems)
I love ice cream ,cooking,tall stories ,
good jokes. Listening to stories from visitors from other lands ,just love life realy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built my own house its no palace but its mine .Seen a lot of oz but I live in the best place now .Saw my three children come into the world ,watched as they grew

Teach, Learn, Share

I taught secondry school for fifteen years ,I worked out students learn in spite of school ,I build real and model boats real and model aeroplanes and model railways ..I belong to a group of volunteers called Fish care ,we go into schools and teach kids ethical fishing ,fishing rules ,nots .We also have free fishing workshops where after teaching rules,casting and other stuff, we take them fishing.One gentleman of 92 years caught his first fish ever ,should have seen the grin!
