ABOUT ME
White bread looking to enjoy my time scurrying around this rock.
PHILOSOPHY
"As essentially disposed, Dasein has in each case already stumbled into determinate possibilities; as the ability-to-be that it is, it has already let such [possibilities] pass by; it constantly relinquishes possibilities of its being, takes hold of them, and errs. That means, however: Dasein is being-possible that is delivered over to itself, through and through thrown possibility."
-Heidegger, Being and Time p. 144

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to be able to watch movies over and over. Now, not so much. I'm open to watching anything, though I'm not much on horror, with the exception of the Halloween movies and a few others that are more comedy than horror.
Dylan, the Stones, ZZ Top, Porcupine Tree, the Black Keys, the Decemberists, Rachmaninov, the Mars Volta, all sorts.
Vonnegut, anything Continental philosophy, Catch-22, anything good for an escape.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing? How about swimming with butanding-- the Tagalag word for whale shark-- in Donsol, Philippines?
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a researcher and teacher by trade, so if you're interested in cultural studies-- particularly in a consumption or marketing context-- I can talk your ear off!
I love learning practical things. Much of my knowledge feels abstract and conceptual. Good recipes are always welcome, too!
