About Me

Hello world, my name is Aaron and I find writing internet profiles about myself extremely difficult. How am I able to show someone who I have never met a snippet of who I really am, my life style choices, my morals, my beliefs, my hobbies/interests, and the life I live everyday. All I can do is give it my best shot, and hope that someday I will get to meet you all in person and possibly gain a friend, a connection, a couch to snooze upon, or someone to climb rock with. And that is where I will start my real life description. My lifestyle and the choices I make are shaped around being able to better myself in my outdoor pursuits. Climbing rocks (cracks of all shapes and sizes <3), mountain biking, hiking, skateboarding or cruiser boarding, snow surfing, fishing and drinking beer or coffee are some of my favorite outdoor activities! I am striving to have less impact on Mother Earth, consume and waste little, and one day be a real dirtbag. I would also like to add that I am relatively a stress free soul, I try to live without having small things weigh me down and blind me from real life. So I surround myself with friends and family that only give out positive vibes and do my best to return the favor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the main reasons I am couchsurfing is because I will be moving to Lander, WY in August and need to find some friends to show me the scenery, and the crags. I will be moving out a week or two before I am actually able to move into my place, so it would nice to have a place to store some of my things, and possibly sleep on a couch or two in between camping! I am also looking for a climbing partner and some friends that are willing to help me train, and get stronger as a climber and all around outdoor adventurer. Another reason I started a profile on couchsurfing is because I know I will be traveling around and would love the opportunity to be able to meet new friends, have new experiences, and not sleep in my car if possible :)

Interests

I have been rock climbing for a couple years now, and it has fueled my passion for the outdoors. I have small rack and am looking forward to not only building that up, but more importantly my knowledge of safe climbing practices, and everything that has to do with climbing more in the alpine, desert, bigwall, boulders, or single pitch sport!
I am also in love with riding my bike, on the road is cool but where I really feel the energy is ripping up some single track and/or eating shit trying to whip tight corners like I am in a downhill cup.

Really all my interests have to do with being in the fresh air, or meeting new friends and hanging out with good company! I am to lazy to continue with this list at the moment! But I will hopefully add to it soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

I dabble in a little bit of every genre of music, depending on my mood, the need for energy or lack thereof. I listen to bluegrass, alternative, folk, blues, jazz, reggae, disco funk muzic, electronic, hip-hop rap music, and everything in between. However, there is one genre I just cannot stand, and that is country pop music, in my OPINION it is just so very awful.......not saying I wont enjoy some country music, but seriously its really bad music.
I also dabble in a little reading, I am currently trying to read Lord Of The Rings, and just got through the first book. Its is a little dry but I am trying. I also like to read about healthy eating and philosophy based books. I also really enjoyed reading Brave New World, it gives a crisp perspective on the world and societies we live in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say an amazing thing I have done is working for Southwest Conservation Corps in Durango, CO. The work we were doing made me feel amazing for helping out on public lands, I got to work with some of the most amazing people I have ever met, was led by a couple of amazing leaders that showed me what it takes to be an amazing leader, got to work in amazing landscapes, got to get away from all the amazing amenities of the average american life, and got to travel in and around the Southwest CO and Utah and climb amazing rock.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First and foremost I can share friendship with hosts, secondly I can share my climbing equipment (or a belay), any food I have, my past experiences (if they are willing to listen), I will listen to their experiences, I can share my ideas, and listen to others ideas, I can share my culinary skills (I really can make some bomb ass food in the kitchen), I'll share positive energy, and I also want to share new experiences with new friends :)
