Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Connect and establish meaningful relationships with people from all over the planet. Learn from those who have experienced more than us. Replace friends who are passing on or moving on.
ABOUT ME
young at heart, love to meet new people and have fun.
We like to take the time to stay connected with the people we meet and participate in mutual interests.
We had considered operating a B&B from our home many years ago but at this time hosting seems less business like and more fun.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Share experiences with any and all.
Learn.
A mighty percentage of who and what we are is common to all mankind, the remainder is what makes human interaction interesting.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are new to couch surfing. We learned a little about it from a lady we met on a Russian River Cruise in September 2011.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We recently hosted our first guest, Loretta from Texas which was a blast. She was seeking a host in Toronto so we were her back up, given our location outside the big city. It worked well for her and although she had her own transportation we suggested she take the bus from Cambridge to Toronto which cost a mere $29 for the same day return trip. Something to keep in mind.
It is not considered an inconvenience for us to arrange to pick up our guests from the Cambridge bus station. Some advance notice would be required to arranage a pick up from Toronto or Hamilton Airports.
Interests
Our primary interests are travel and theatre and making new friends around the world.
We are interested in fitness and staying healthy and life long learning.

Music, Movies, and Books
We enjoy movies, we subscribe to the Stratford Theatre, the Shaw Festival at Niagara on the Lake, the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario as well as the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony in Kitchener. We also enjoy opera by attending live broadcasts from the MET in New York.
Judy is a member of the local book club and enjoys horses.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have trekked to Base Camp at Mount Everest and summited Kilimanjaro both while in my sixties and lost 17 lbs in the process, albeit temporarily.
We have observed polar bears in the Arctic and seen the big 5 on safari.
We have experienced harrowing and terrifying drives in India and have driven the Amalfi coast in Italy with zero car damage or personal injury.
In October 2012 I will be trekking Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in Nepal.
Have driven the Dempster Highway from Dawson City to Inuvik.
Stayed happily married to the same lovely lady for 40 years, what a challenge and still ongoing. I believe that if individuals serviced the account as well as they sold it in the first place there would be far fewer divorces.
Teach, Learn, Share
From and early age we thankfully learned financial responsibility.
We believe that you reap what you sow and that it is important to learn good habits early in life so choose your parents carefully.
Do the work, the results will come in any and all endeavors.
We love to learn from older friends, how to prepare for a productive healthy and happy retirement.
