About Me
Every human is such a unique and wonderful collection of thoughts, feelings, experiences, etc., how could one hope to possible express themselve in a tiny box on a computer screen? That being said, here I go!
I'm a student; both literally, as I'm about to complete the last year of my undergraduate studies, but also figuratively as I see the world as a place to constantly learn and grow. In school I study anthropology. I love learning about other ways of living, other perspectives on the world, other methods of being human. I never want to grow up. To be told I have to do one thing, no matter how amazing it may be, for the rest of my life, this scares the hell out of me. I want to travel. There is no place on earth I wouldn't visit, given the opportunity. If I were to pursue a formal education above the BA level, which I probably won't, I would study linguistics. I've only relatively recently discovered the magic of language learning through trying to teach myself my birth-language (Romanian). I've only just started down this path but I intend to travel it until the end. I don't know what else to say for now. Thanks for reading my introspective free-associative paragraph. :P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Short answer: I want to travel and to assist others with the same goal.
Long answer: this site, and others like it, are part of a larger scale social transformation. Tens of millions of people globally are willing to open their homes to complete strangers, free of cost, just to help broaden someone's worldview and in turn help to further develop their own. We have always been part of one big community but now, assisted through the free-flow of information, we are finally starting to realize it. I want to help be part of this critical mass.
Interests
I like talking about stuff that it's said shouldn't be discussed. Economics, politics, government, religion, spirituality, etc., these are all things which every person should think long and hard about. If rather speak with someone that disagrees with me than not, because then I either learn something new or I get the opportunity to further someone else's understanding. Both outcomes are positive.
I'm really interested in most everything., so much so that the list of things that don't interest me is shorter. I don't care for shopping. Consumerism is the real c-word.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I will listen to any genre but my personal preference is rap, believe it or not. Not the gangsta guns, bling, and bitches style nonsense, but conscious, intelligent music about political injustice, struggles of poverty, power of knowledge, or esoteric concepts I otherwise might not have be introduced to. I enjoy Beast 1333, Immortal Technique, and Virtuoso to name a few. I've also started listening to Romanian music to help with me language acquisition.
