Overview
About Me
I have lived in northern New Hampshire for three years. I love living here because of the freedom to spend every day outside exploring this wild land and finding quiet hidden corners with my dog.
I have worked a wide variety of jobs and am always dreaming of new paths to take. I am not career motivated at the moment, but I am intent on opportunities to learn new skills and develop skills that I have. Lately I have worked as a bread baker, I love the early morning and fast paced constant work, a ski patroller, and an outdoor educator. Currently I'm doing some construction work and I am a member of the local volunteer fire department.
Live to the beat and let life play the guitar strings
***WE DONT ALWAYS HAVE INTERNET AT MY HOUSE, SO APOLOGIES IF YOU DONT HEAR BACK FROM ME RIGHT AWAY. ITS NOTHING PERSONAL***
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel without meeting people who live in those places . . . whats the point?
I have been shown incredible hospitality and generosity while traveling and living abroad and in other parts of the US, and I am grateful for an opportunity to pay that forward. From homestay families that welcomed me into their homes while studying in Thailand, to folks in New Zealand who offered me a meal and a bed while I was walking the Te araroa, my best memories from traveling center around the kindness of strangers. Living in a fairly remote corner of New England, hosting couchsurfers is part of my attempts to be a better citizen of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Im happy to show you my bookshelf and I love talking about books. a few authors that I like to read are Tom Robbins, Haruki Murakami, Ken Kesey, Mary Oliver, among others . . .
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
recently I hiked naked alone across Katahdin's northwest plateau above treeline in the late afternoon sunlight . . . that was amazing
Walked the length of the appalachian trail from Georgia to Maine, te araroa across new zealand
Dug 100,000 year old mastadon and sloth fossils in Colorado, 57 million y/o moonseed leaves in Utah, and 16 million y/o horses and camels in Panama
Teach, Learn, Share
Of course I enjoy sharing stories but mostly I like to share food. Cooking with someone is my favorite way to get to know someone, and I would love to hear about what you like to cook and eat.
If you know how to play mandolin maybe you can teach me a few things . . .!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I live in a house that is a five minute walk up a steep driveway, big trucks can get up the drive but that's it. The view is worth the walk. We have a woodstove for the winter, hot water, everything you'd expect. Still working on getting some furniture but we have lots of floor space and sleeping bags. . .
Happy to give advice about the woods, trails, and rivers in the area!
