About Me

Currently, I'm working as a Product Manager at Microsoft in their Redmond, Washington hq and I used to work as a PM at Zalando SE in Berlin, Germany.

I love traveling and hiking in new places. So far I've been to 40+ countries all across the different continents. Currently, I'm planning a backpacking trip across North and South America. Wanna join? :)

I was a student at KU Leuven in Brussels, Belgium in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and also a student in Turkey in Information Systems and Business Administration at Bilkent University in Ankara. My academic and now professional life has taken me all around the world.

I have lived in Europe and Asia mostly and was born to Asian parents (half-Indian) and have since gotten the chance to live in and travel to many countries across multiple continent's.

After traveling for a while as a student, I have realized how important it is to travel and how good the feeling of just going to a different place and exploring it is. My friends tell me that I'm a fun person to talk to and also someone who they never get bored with so I think that makes me a good conversationalist and just the feeling of talking to someone new and getting to know them just like you get to know a book after starting reading it, is an amazing feeling. Also, I'm told that I'm a good listener so feel free to share your thoughts, feelings, and ideas about anything and everything :D

Apart from all that, I think I'm a fun person and I like to joke casually with people. I am friendly and have a good sense of humor. Well, that's what I think at least. You'll have to meet me to know for sure 😄

Recently, I came back from Poznan, Poland after completing an ERASMUS+ Traineeship programme during the summers and I had a great time there. During this time I met so many amazing people, got to know them personally and not only did I learn from their experiences, I also shared my experiences with them 😄

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be able to better learn the culture and traditions of the places I will travel to by living with the locals and talking with them on these topics and also be able to do the same for them in return and expose them to my culture and past travel experiences.

Interests

I used to be a Vegetarian and heavily believe in saving the environment in any way possible. Being a vegetarian was one of the ways, but after some point, I realized that I don't have to stop altogether. However, I still don't eat red meat as it's the biggest contributor to climate change. I made the change because while traveling I was missing out on some really nice delicacies and in order to indulge in them, I decided to be vegetarian for 4-5 days a week and have the freedom to eat what I want to for the rest of the days (excluding red meat of course). Because, ultimately if half of the population cuts down their meat consumption by half, that means that half of us are vegetarians. It would be a great step towards eradicating climate change. Also, I don't like judging people about their food choices so feel free to tell me that you don't believe in the idea of cutting down or stopping meat consumption because at the end of the day its a personal decision :D

I am a big fan of American TV Shows and Movies.
I like reading books, especially self-help and fiction.
I like going to the gym as well to stay fit.

Scuba dived in Dahab, Egypt at the blue hole. Definitely one of the best things that I have viewed with my eyes 😇😇😇😇

Getting a 100% scholarship to study abroad and get the opportunity to travel around the world and explore different cultures and not making my parents worry about my tuition costs. Thank you, god 😄

Quit smoking after being a heavy smoker for years! I still don’t mind a casual smoke here and there but thankfully the one pack a day, days are gone!
