Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From when I was young I knew I wouldn't stay in my hometown, or even in Holland. I was raised in a small city in Holland where a lot of people stay all their lives, but that was not going to be me, so when I could I moved to Rotterdam. I felt so welcome in Rotterdam and it really felt like it was the best place in The Netherlands for me to stay. In my life I will try to see the whole world, small villages as well as big cities. But to get to know a place it takes more than just visiting, and I think that is the point that a host can come in as a very important element to your trip. This way you can get to know the city more than just the main attractions, you can get the vibe of the city even more. Next to that it is so nice to meet new people, with maybe the same or different mindsets and to find new friendships in places you wouldn't expect. Next to this am I aware that traveling is expensive, and as being a student now, I do not want this to be a limitation for me, and it shouldn't be for all of you guys either. Let's share some love over this world by helping others, the best way to make this world a better place.

Interests

My main interst might be weird, but it's people. I love to see how we interact, behave, think, act and just how we are. I like to see the differences between us although we can act so alike, and it interests me how these differences occur. So with traveling, my other great interest, and hosting, you get to know more about people and their mindsets. I'm always open for new ideas and interpretations, which won't mean I will always accept them, but we could perhaps have a nice discussion about it. Apart from that, I love art, coffee and dogs. but ofcourse I have more interests, and maybe a few/lot that we will have in common.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is Forrest Gump, it's that feel good movie that makes me cry every time. Besides that, I am a big fan of Disney movies because I am a sucker for musicals and happy endings. My favorite Disney movies are Mulan and Coco. But I actually like a wide range and I appreciate good movies, arthouse (like Moonlight) as well as blockbusters. I love to read and my favorite book at this time is called The Other Hand by Chris Cleave, I can really recommend it to anyone. If you could advise me on a good book, for sure I'll take the challenge of reading it!
