About Me

Hi! I’m Adnan, living in İzmir and studying Logistics Management at İzmir University of Economics (2nd year). I live with my family and have a golden retriever named Schopenhauer—feel free to call him Schopen! I’m a big fan of animals, nature, and exploring new cultures. I also love sharing my own culture with others. Lately, I’ve been trying to learn Spanish. If you’re planning to visit İzmir, I’d be more than happy to show you around, introduce you to our culture, and share the rich history of this beautiful city. Meeting new people is always exciting for me!I’m a bit shy at first, but I open up once we start talking. Also you can visit my instagram account @adnandeniz_

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I love meeting new people and learning about their cultures and ways of life. It also brings me joy to share my own culture with others. I’m trying to improve my English and learn Spanish, so I’d love to practice and connect with people from around the world. I want to build meaningful friendships and improve my communication skills. If you visit İzmir, I’d be happy to host you and make your experience unforgettable!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music—if it sounds good to my ears, I’m in! I usually listen to classical music when I want to relax, and rock music when I want to have fun and boost my energy. Reading is one of my biggest passions. I love history books, novels, biographies, and autobiographies. My favorite author is Zülfü Livaneli, but I also enjoy exploring many works from world literature. I’m a big fan of movies, especially Marvel films. And when it comes to TV series, Game of Thrones is definitely one of my all-time favorites!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sometimes, I just pack my bag and go—no plans, no expectations. These solo trips give me the chance to discover not only new places, but also myself. I get to meet strangers, explore unfamiliar places, and truly live in the moment. Traveling alone takes courage, but it’s one of the most empowering and fulfilling things I’ve ever done.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I mentioned before, I’m very interested in learning new languages—especially improving my English and learning Spanish. I’ve spent time in different regions of Anatolia, so I have a general knowledge about Turkish politics, culture, and religions. While showing you around İzmir, I’d also love to introduce you to our traditions and way of life.

I’m not a master in the kitchen, but my mom is! I can ask her to cook something delicious for us, or we can go out and enjoy some amazing Turkish food together. My English is okay, and I’d be happy to teach you some fun and useful things about the Turkish language. I’m really excited to share and exchange cultures!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I live with my family, unfortunately I can’t always host guests at home. But I’d be more than happy to explore İzmir with you by car and show you around every corner of the city. If you’re a university student and we feel comfortable, my family and I might be able to host you for a night or two. That way, you could experience Turkish culture up close and in a warm, family environment.
