About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to get through each day imparting wisdom in the most creative way I can imagine while dishing up the best food in North Carolina.
ABOUT ME
I'm a 52 year old mom and wife. I love having fun and experiencing new things. My sweet husband and fun loving kids are my life. I love to do art, photography, cook, decorate, make jewelry, sew, hike, camp, and read. We love to sit around the fire pit and eat. I love steak and snowy days. I think travel is one thing that everyone should do. It keeps your life in perspective.

PHILOSOPHY
God is good, food is for bringing people together, and travel is the best thing in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I can now say I have 'surfed the couch' and lived to tell about it. What a wonderful feeling to be welcomed in to a perfect stranger's house and leave feeling like you've know them forever. I spent 5 days surfing in Boone for and art seminar and had an awesome time with the Houcks, hung out with Farley for a couple days in Asheville for the Organic Growers School (twice), surfed two days with the Jacobs in Las Vegas (and am going back again), spent some wonderful time with Nicole and Erica in Charlotte for some contra dancing, spent a couple of nights at Radistan in DC, two nights with Sulman and his family in Alexandria, and dropped in on Jared just up the mountain in Boone. This is certainly a community of great folks. I want to try to make Couch Surfing more well known in my area. Surf's up!Free counters
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We had our first Couch Surfer a few days after I signed up. I loved it. It's such a great feeling knowing you can help someone out by giving them a little hospitality. Something that is so foriegn in today's culture. We have been surfing and hosting ever since.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Middle East: on our own, with our kids! 14 days, 3 countries, and 1 amazing vacation with my family. Petra, Jerusalem, The Pyramids, Masada, Alexandria and more. We traveled by rented car, bus, taxi, horse, and camel making our way all over the place.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach people art, soap making, chickens, bread making, canning jams, pickles, and veggies, cheese making, drop spindle spinning, and goat husbandry. I am enjoying learning about farm life and local crafts. I also want to learn more about solar energy, and living off the grid. We own a farm and are looking to build cabins for agro tourism. My husband enjoys philosophy, teaching, and sharing and exploring new ideas with others. He also enjoys hunting. My oldest son is in the Coast Guard and my youngest is a Sr in High School. He wants to fly helicopters in the Coast Guard and is currently working on his private pilots license. They enjoy travel and have been to Fl, NY, TN, GA, SC, AR, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Kenya.
