Overview
About Me
Hello :)
As a traveller adjusting to current situation I moved out from London where I graduated my PhD from biological sciences. I decided to hit the road on a motorbike and travelled solo through 10 countries. Literally on the way I received good news that I am an academic doctor now :). Now I just keep rolling to a warmer place where I can piecefully sit down and start to apply for jobs :).
I am fully vaccinated
I enjoy nature and camping but due to time of the year I looking for something warmer than just my tent.
I'm easy going, non smoking person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a great way to interact with local people who know their area best. It allows me to get to know the culture, learn a few words of the regional language and find out where the best food is :) Holidays in a tourist resort are a torture. And there are so many adventures awaiting outside!
Interests
I love to explore and try novel things. I am attracted to food which I have never degustated and skills I have never had an opportunity to learn. Some of them I just try and leave and some I convert into my hobbies. Now I know more about motorbike touring than I ever wish to want :)
- dancing
- dining
- cooking
- traveling
- cycling
- hiking
- sailing
- motor carousing
Music, Movies, and Books
Music
Depends on my mood so it spams from Debussy or Saint Saens to Buena vista social club, to Night Wish, Haggard or Rhapsody of Fire.
Movies:
Documentary movies and among those Planet Earth with David Attenborough, who rocks!
TV series:
The Vikings are most thrilling.
Books:
My favourite is Shogun by James Clavell. I like this author as he travelled across Asia and wrote a number of novels spamming different historical periods.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Many, not one :)
Took 2-week expedition on the North Pole, Svalbard.
Cycled from London to Paris on my own.
Hiked in Himalaya
Flew with a hot-air-balloon over MasaiMara.
Sailed across Atlantic ocean from Azores islands to Brest, France.
Teach, Learn, Share
Nope I won't bother you how vaccines work and give you full academic lecture. We are all tired by now :)
I like to learn from others. It doesn't have to be anything big. A little hiking or cooking advice, or how to look after gear in general. Very simple things turned out to be very useful.
I can share my adventures I went through during my journeys and experience I gained.
