About Me

Hi there, I'm from Dublin, Ireland. My New Years resolution is to travel again, so I'm looking forward to some new adventures. I'm a vegetarian coeliac too, so eat a gluten-free diet. Am used to living with others who don't though : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To visit new places and meet new people.

Interests

I pretty much regressed back to a teen during the very long pandemic induced lockdown years here in Ireland, so I'm looking forward to really living again. I binge watched the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series reruns on tv, too. Was planning to go to some buffy events or tours but had to cancel. Hoping to go to some this year instead.

Other fun interests include exploring cities, coffee shops, book shops, music gigs, hiking, and swimming. I remember swimming off the French riviera and it was the end of summer so the water had warmed up a lot. The beach in Nice was beautiful, and even though it was pebbly, it was still relaxing. I would recommend swimming socks or swimming shoes though. 🐚🌊🧜‍♀️

I love animals and nature too, hence my vegetarianism. I'm a bit of a chess nerd also. Used to be in the chess club in high school and got into it again in the last few years. So I'm always up for a game or two. I must warn you, though, I'm rated in the top 3%, according to chess.com anyway. ♟️

Music, Movies, and Books

Most genres of everything appeal to me. Revisited my emo phase from my teen years the last few yrs. Music like oldskool Bloc Party, Paramore, CSS, The Dead Weather, White Stripes, The Clash and MCR.

The last great film I saw was the terrific and poignant Train to Busan (probably the best zombie film imo). I'm also into Wong kar Wai films and cult classics Withnail and I and so bad it's bad The Room (starring some of the worst toilet bleach blonde actors you will ever see in your life)🥄🏈.

As for TV, Buffy, the vampire slayer🦇🪦, and Angel 🕵‍♂️are always on point (pun intended). South Park, Black Books, Girls, Portlandia, The US Office, An idiot abroad, Malcolm in the Middle, Queens Gambit, Gilmore Girls, and Father Ted too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cared for my pet Honey from a baby bunny till she was an old lady rabbit. I miss her very much but feel she taught me an important lesson about love, loss, and life. I was able to give this little prey animal a loving home and a secure life.🐇🐰

Teach, Learn, Share

I taught English in Italy one summer and lived in London for a year too. Got into learning French, Latin, and other languages on duolingo for the last few years. Now I enjoy playing chess and watercolour painting. Would love to learn how to knit, sew, and play guitar and piano someday. I can share some nice veggie gluten-free recipes, too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am tidy, responsible, and friendly. I can also cook some tasty gluten-free veggie meals. 🍲🍝
