About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn (more) Spanish.

ABOUT ME

Just looking for a little perspective.

PHILOSOPHY

It's always changing, especially as I travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host with regularity in rural Oberlin, Ohio. It was mostly cyclists and motorists on cross-country trips looking for a layover. Nonetheless it was always a positive and rewarding experience to offer travelers a hot meal and place to rest their heads.

Since then I have pulled up my roots to travel South America with my husband.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After a long hiatus, I've returned to couchsurfing and am available to host in Southern Ecuador.

Interests

A few of my likes include bicycles, goat farming, big dogs, baking bread, DIY, alternative medicine, fermentation, and a good cup of coffee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched a hen lay an egg, and then ate it! Made 30 foot flames from a pile of discarded Christmas trees on a snowy night. Saw a double rainbow end to end. Watched shooting stars on the beach with my best friend. Built an oven and roasted a pig for a 200 person feast. Found a nest of newborn pups in the woods.

Oh, and give up everything that doesn´t fit on my bicycle to buy a one way ticket to Chile. In hindsight I can see why immigration gave me such a hard time.

Teach, Learn, Share

While I can appreciate the occasional drink, I also like crossing paths with people who DO stuff. Go for a bike ride, build something, get outside, participate! Please, no couch potatoes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Chile, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain
