About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Continue loving life.
ABOUT ME
I thrive on people and experiences. I love long conversations about everything ranging from serious topics to the absurd. Traveling is one of my favorite experience-maker. I love to discover and share music (funk, jazz, soul, latin, house). Experimenting with different, mostly vegetarian dishes has become an enjoyable past-time. Other than that, I try to stay physically active through biking, running, kickboxing and hiking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't really taken full advantage of Couchsurfing outside of using it as a tool to meet people for a coffee or beer. I'd like to be more active within the Couchsurfing community, including hosting people once I stop traveling.
Interests
Running, biking, snowboarding, hiking/camping, mountaineering, playing kickball – basically anything outside – along with cooking, traveling, woodworking, sustainable living, farming, and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not really a big movie buff and, admittedly, I'm way out of date when it comes to new movies. I do really like Fight Club, Touching the Void, Breaking Bad (I know, not a movie), and documentaries in general.
Music is my jam. I love to discover and share music. I like everything from Jazz and ambient music to funk/soul/disco to House (German Tech House, Chicago House, Funk House).
One of my all-time favorite books is Rolf Potts' Vagabonding...it inspired me to travel through Central and South America!
As for food, I love all types of food. Sushi and ceviche hold a special place in my heart along with Mexican food. I cook mostly vegetarian food.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wow, I've been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to do/see some really amazing things. But, I'd say that one of the most amazing things I've seen was in Salasaka, Ecuador. One night, friends and I hiked up to the top of this hill in Salasaka to take part in a local ritual. Later that night we saw nearby Volcán Tungurahua erupt. Complete with spewing lava! That morning, we saw the most amazing sunrise I've ever seen - an absolutely clear sky with just a streak of ash cutting across the sky. As a plus, since the morning was so clear we could see all 7 volcanoes. It was amazing!
