ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Yi Wei Chen, it's my real Chinese name. You can call me Yi-Wei or Aki. Aki is my nickname, cuz I was playing keyboard in a rock band when I studying in Senior high. I'm a Film sound recordist and sound designer in Taiwan now. I've participated in more than 20 Taiwanes movies. As going to be 30 this year, I'd like to take more time in traveling and making new friends to make my life colorful!!

watch football(soccer) , NBA, baseball games. listen to music, take photos, and eat wonderful foods. Lying on the beach with the sunset, the most wonderful things!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Her, Captain Phillip, Inception, The Dark Knight series, Godfather series, Woody Allen series, etc. I like to watch high budget movies cuz I can research some techs from them, guess how they shoot. And also like low budget movies cuz I can enjoy the scripts, actor performances, see clearly every part of the whole movies.

Music: Rock Band like Imagine Dragons, Muse, Coldplay, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Suede, The Killers, Travis, etc. Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Birdy, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Bruno Mars, Avril Lavigne. Sometimes I listen to Hip Hop, Electric Dance, Blues, etc.

I seldom read books cuz I like moving things with sound. So I like to watch videos and movies than books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Does a moviemaker can be an amazing thing done?

I've been very close to the NBA star Kevin Durant , for work. He came to shoot a Nike TVCF in Taiwan. And I set up the wireless microphone on him. VERY VERY CLOSE!

I've been to Shiga-ken, Japan for film shooting in 2010.
I've been to Tulou and Xaimen in Fujian, China in May 2013.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the knowledge and tech of sound recording, especially in video shooting. Cause I've worked on it over 6 years. It's my specialty. I can also teach you Chinese, maybe Madanrain and Traditional is better. Because I'm from Taiwan. Formosa!!
