Overview
About Me
Hii, I am Aleks and I come from Belgrade, Serbia. I was born and raised in city of Pancevo (i doubt you heard of it) but now I am living alone in Belgrade. I love to travel (i mean who doesnt), but I prefer to really experience culture and gain many new friends by doing so. I guess thats why I am on this website
Currently working as a electrical engineer on integration of renewable energy
I love sports (running recently), (hitch)hiking, reading (a lot), learning about history (roman republic as every guy), learning random skills, watching movies and hanging out with my friends. Ooh and food, god i love food and eating.
I am a younger brother of amazing sister who is always taking care of me and giving me hints how to live life fully. Also I am a son of 2 legends who selflessly love me and support my crazy ideas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and constantly reassure myself that world is amazing place full of awesome people just waiting to be met. This seems like a great way to easily combine those two things by traveling easy and meeting new people.
Furthermore, I now have a full time job so I cant travel as much as in my student days, but plus size of that is that I have my own flat and spare room that is ready for guests. I see hosting on couchsurfing as a way to have part of that "exploring" experience while not even leaving my flat. It is also a way to repay for hospitality that was given to me by random people time and time again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am volunteering in local educational/recreational center for refugees where i teach math, serbian and english to the kids, teenagers and people who had to run away from their homes. Center is founded and run by foreign activist who during years managed to gather fine library (even i borrowed some books), but all books were in english. It was a bit paradoxical when some students asked my for books in Serbian to practice and read but I couldnt offer any. So I contacted principle from my former High school and we managed to organize book collecting in school. Thing that amazed me the most is that people brought more than we asked for, they brought coloring books, crayons, puzzles, board games and quite many books. Best thing is that it seemed very easy, I just got the idea and with help of students councilor it was quickly organized and i felt that i made an real impact
Teach, Learn, Share
I will gladly teach you basic Serbian especially words that relate to drinking and eating and I hope to learn those words on hosts native tongue as well. I like to think that i am king of useless skills so I can share with you my skills of juggling, origami, rubick cube solving, spinning pen.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my stories, spirit, jokes, positive energy. On my travels i learned that talking about my culture and discovering all the similarities and difference is one very interesting experience so i will gladly share that with you .I love to eat, unfortunately i am not much of a cook, but I think I could find a way to make some serbian dish, worst case scenario I bring some serbian snacks. Of course if i am staying with you I will make sure to bring some gift you can remember me by.
