Overview
About Me
*I've been inactive for quite awhile due to work and my academic schedule. I have intent to check this much more frequently now that things have calmed a bit. Feel free to shoot me a message if you're coming through town!
26-year-old adventurer.
Very proud Mojave native.
I hear I'm generally easy to talk to.
I love meeting new people and going new places.
I've been told that I'm a really kind person.
I try to choose my actions based on what I think will make everyone in the situation happiest.
I've been called a thrill-seeker.
"...And it was his philosophy that if you see someone in a worse way than you, it's your ethical obligation to stop and see what you can do. I wish more people thought that too."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Mostly, I think when I'm visiting new places, it would be nice to meet someone from the area. Traveling for me is partially sightseeing, but it's a larger part getting a taste for different cultures and widening my mindset.
When hosting, I like sharing what I know about my country. I find it really endearing and fun to help people practice their English, and learn words and phrases from their language as well.
Interests
I like exploring, reading, minimalist camping, painting, writing, indie video games, comics, and astronomy.
I'm sure there's a whole lot more. Hell, I know there's a whole lot more. I'm interested in whatever you're interested in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a lot of things, but I love Modest Mouse, Everclear, George Gershwin, Ghost Mice, Gogol Bordello, Cake, The Beach Boys...a lot of things.
Fellini and Antonioni, Face of Another, Tokyo Story, Jeunet, Kubrick, Wes Anderson. I like documentaries and anything that's more about the experience of the movie than an actual point A to point B plot.
What books don't I like? I enjoy both fiction and nonfiction. Again, I prefer things more about ideas than a specific plot. I have a preference to modern classics. I read multiple books at a time. Right now I'm reading:
Pilgrim at Tinker Creek
Swann's Way
Backyard Guide to the Night Sky
War of the Foxes
Weetzie Bat (for the millionth time)
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (for the second time)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent almost 2 years hitchhiking around the U.S.
MTV's University branch did a short segment on my research.
One New Year's Eve, I saw fireworks go off across a dozen small villages in towns from high up in the Swiss Alps.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I have a lot of interesting experiences and life advice to share about traveling, camping, the arts. I have a real insight on Native American life and culture.
I hear I'm a pretty darn good cook! Maybe I can make you fresh flour tortillas or traditional indian fry bread :D
If you have a hand saw laying around I can teach you to make it sound like a woman singing.
I can tell you the creation story of my people, the Aha Macav
I'm kinda' getting okay at reading star maps.
I'll eat up and learn what every you want to teach me.
I love trying different foods and exotic cuisine.
I live to share experiences, and a good drink lol
What I Can Share with Hosts
Anything! I'll draw you a picture, or write you a little short story or poem. Sometimes I have cool little knick knacks or trinkets from my travels, maybe we can trade!
