About Me

**I love hosting people but if you're a group and send me a request then you MUST have profiles filled out for all of you or I will not accept**

Hi there,

My name is Alex and I've been a long time DC resident and have been involved with Couchsurfing for the past 3 years. I was born and raised in NY to a Colombian father and Ecuadorian mother.
CURRENT MISSION

To be your DC encyclopedia. I want to help you navigate as best you can while you're here.

ABOUT ME

Another transplant in the DC area. But I've been here for 14 years so I guess I'm a bit more seasoned than most DC folks here.

PHILOSOPHY

Empty your cup so that it may be filled. I also firmly believe in the Golden Rule. Be kind to others and treat them how you would like to be treated. Everyone deserves kindness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

**please note that I do not view Couchsurfing as just a free hotel. I do enjoy the cultural exchange and expect at least a minimal engagement from people that would like to stay at my place. So if you are just looking for a place to crash then please do not send me a request**

The living room that has the 3 couches and a door for privacy that you can lock. Also there's a flat screen TV in the room with wireless internet, books, maps, etc.

And I've started a collection of items I've gotten from Couchsurfers so if you have a small item (anything really) from your travels or your hometown that you'd like to part with I can place it on the shelf with the others.

Interests

Biking, traveling, dining out, movie watching, and anything else that gets me out of the house. I really love meeting new people from all over the world and couchsurfing has blessed me with that opportunity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love a good Kung-Fu movie and I'll admit I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to the whole comic book movie craze.

Music: Where to begin? I love going to live music venues. Whether it's a rap concert or an outdoor jazz festival. Anything that has a good beat.

Books: Anything on psychology, history, and unusual facts. I'm not a huge fan of fiction works but do appreciated

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd rather put amazing things I want to do/see here.

A Buddhist temple in Thailand (checked off in 2016)
The beaches of Croatia (checked this off my list in 2014)
Paris (checked off in 2018)
Russia- aiming for 2019
