About Me

If you are visiting Toulouse and want to see my favorite places (cafés, bars, restaurants, etc.) - download the app called Mapstr (pretty cool free app - https://mapstr.com ) and check out my shared map : https://go.mapstr.com/zWzMqqJee3

It also works for other cities I have been to. It's a bit messy, but you can find places using the (many) tags)

- ABOUT ME :
I am interested in people and travels, music and photography, among other things. I love hitchhiking, eating, going out, hiking, camping, discovering and experiencing new things.

If you prefer quiet nights chilling by the bonfire, I am up for that. If you'd rather hit that club in town where they still play ABBA, let's do it. If you're the adventurous kind and you'd rather go camping in the middle of January, let’s go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What a better way to travel and meet people ? I owe some of my best travel memories to CS;

I am always looking forward to host a couchsurfer and to give back some of what I was given. Please come people !

Interests

Recently I have been going to the mountains (Pyrénées) a lot more to hike or stay in the wilderness for a week or two. There a numerous mountain cabins open for use, in amazing locations. I just spend time hiking around, or cleaning up the cabins the best I can. A fair amount of my time is also dedicated to drinking coffee and watching the scenery. Let me know if you'd be interested in coming along.

I have been dumpster diving for years, and I have to admit that knowing that there is all this free food available at any given time makes it very hard to stop. It makes going grocery shopping a bit more exciting. It's the hitchhiking equivalent of going to the supermarket.

New interest of mine, I have been getting into radio communications. Does it get any nerdier than this ? I can show you how to have a chat about the weather with 90-year-old-english men at any given time via the radio. I am still hoping to find someone who will get as excited as I am about this.

I can talk about languages for quiet a long time.

List of things that get me overly excited for very little reason : ships, airplanes, streams, radio communications, strong wind, thunder storms, light houses - list is non-exhaustive.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am interested in movies and in film studies in general.

I can't really live without music. I especially like eastern european music, balkan and balkan inspired music, but also celtic music, rock, rock'n roll, disco, rap, electro, jazz, gypsy jazz, and all the rest as well.

As for the books, I should really read more than country guide books and press articles... I am working on it.(update 1 : really trying - update 2 : getting better)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Living in the mountains until I run out of food.
- Going to Shetland for a week and staying for 2 months with the best possible host.
- Working as a steward on Air France over the summer
- Hitchhiking
- Not being able to chose one thing when I am asked to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

With both guests and hosts, I can share my small experience as a "traveler", we can talk about hitchhiking, about meeting people, about taking pictures, about discovering new cultures. I can teach you some French if you want, as long as you teach me some words back in another language. For guests, I can give you a tour of the city center in Toulouse, with some historical anecdotes, as I have done this a couple of times on my spare time.
