About Me
CURRENT MISSION
faire confiance aux vents: j'aime cette vie errante et pleine d'aventures.
ABOUT ME
Salut! My name's Alex, and I'm from the Great White North (more specifically from beautiful Vancouver, Canada, which is not actually all that white or all that north). After traveling around my vast country and loving all its quirks, I packed up my bags one summer and headed to Paris, where I spent a year living and going to school. It was my first time with a passport and my first time outside of Canada and man, what an experience!
I completed an undergraduate degree in political science, French language and Canadian studies at Simon Fraser University; in France, I attended Sciences Po Paris. After working a bit in Vancouver, I lived in Montreal for three years while attending McGill University as a student in their bilingual, bijuridical law program. Now that I've graduated, I'm back on the wet west coast.
I'm an ambitious but realistic person, outgoing and always up for a laugh. I'm rational, open-minded, and somewhat spontaneous; in some senses it works out. I love getting out there, seeing new things and meeting new people. I appreciate thoughtful conversation and intellectual debates, but also joking among friends over a (/many) beer or quiet conversations over tea and coffee.
I adore music, history and politics, different cultures and different languages. I like exploring. I love the calm of the countryside and the energy of the city.
I'm an open book: feel free to ask any questions you may have about me!
PHILOSOPHY
If you're the smartest person in the room, find another room.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed my way through part of Europe during my year abroad, with great success!
Before CouchSurfing, I had participated in exchanges and surfed couches the old school way: staying at friends' or acquaintances' homes for a few days, etc. I've also had many people stay with me in Vancouver, Paris and Montreal. Therefore, I do know what it means to be a good guest and what work it takes to be a good host!

Teach, Learn, Share
The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself.
-Oscar Wilde
