ABOUT ME

Hello fellow couch surfers out there! I am about to embark on a crazy and exciting backpacking adventure through Europe with my cousin and we couldn't be more excited!!!!! I work professionally as an occupational therapist with kids (it's in the health field) and I LOVE my job, but my true passion is traveling! I mean, what's not to love about taking off time from work, seeing the world, experiencing other cultures, meeting people from around the world, and seeing what life is like outside of my little bubble in the US?! I have traveled to Australia (so has my cousin), Thailand, Peru, Israel, New Zealand, and Central America and I have been dreaming about this trip through Europe for YEARS now. I still cannot even believe it's happening! But here we are. About me (and my cousin): we are both in our mid twenties, both grew up in New Jersey (the good ole US of A!), but we're the friendly kind of Jersians, not the Jersey shore types...Just wanted to clarify! :) Our plan is to do a lot of hiking and outdoor sightseeing so if you all have suggestions, we are very open to them! We are both very friendly, social, adventurous, easy going, and warm people. We would be thankful to anyone who would open up their homes to us and one day, hope to return the favor! By the way, my cousin and I are the two in the middle of the photo!

PHILOSOPHY

I have learned through the years that there is so much more to life than working your life away at a job. At this point in my life, I am young, and there is so much to see and do and experience, and I want to see and do and experience it all! People ask me, "Why are you always getting up and moving and traveling?" Answer: Because I can! Life passes us by in the blink of an eye and I don't want to miss a thing.

I am new to the couchsurfing family, and I have never surfed before but I cannot wait!

Interests

Traveling (that's the most obvious one! haha), country line dancing (if there is a bar you know of that does country western line dancing in Europe, I will forever be in your debt!), hanging out with friends, watching movies, hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, white water rafting, drawing. Open to trying anything new and I will speak for my cousin and say that he is too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed La Concepcion (an active volcano) in Nicaragua in 2012 and realized that these types of physical challenges are nothing the mind can't conquer.

Teach, Learn, Share

We don't live in reality. We live in our own perception of what we think reality is. Realize that you are 100% responsible for every single one of your relationships and thoughts. Accept these people in your life for who they are and not who you want them to be. Leave the past in the past so you can create a whole new world of possibility for yourself in the now and the future. Don't make happiness a moving target. Let go of expectation.
