About Me
If my friends would describe me, I'm pretty sure the words positive, enthusiastic and kind would be among the chosen words.
I found my favourite thing in the world, social psychology, couple years ago and started studying in the University of Helsinki. Currently, I'm finishing my master's thesis about appreciation at workplaces. I love studying and reading social psychological articles. My passion and a mission in life, is to create more happiness and well-being through better interpersonal relationships. I think kindness is one of the most underrated skills in the world – I love people who share the same mission of spreading more micro actions of love to the world :)
Also, I am an alumni of Hogwarts. (Gryffindor, but still not sure if I'm happy with that).
I get excited pretty easily and I love truly deep conversations and learning new things. I would like to learn more about environmental stuff and what we all could do to save our amazing planet.
On my travels I love visiting different natural places, like national parks, hiking trails, waterfalls, hot springs etc. I'm also a bit foodie, so finding cozy cafes and great restaurants are always on my travel bucket list.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I tried Couchsurfing first time when I was having my semester abroad in California and fell in love in the way of traveling! Earlier, I was a bit suspicious about the safety, but after trying Couchsurfing with some amazing hosts and learning about the whole community aspect around the platform, I got excited.
I think I always get most out of travelling when I know a local who can give me the best tips and recommendations. Also, I love learning new things and by meeting new people, you almost always got to learn something different and exciting!

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, if you read my About Me -section, you maybe could have guessed that Harry Potter is one of them. I read a lot of non-fiction, and almost anything in the field of positive psychology makes me curious. I have a real problem of tsundoku (if you know the Japanese term for getting more and more books, but never having time to read them). I love to recommend books to others and some friends consider me as their personal library. One of my all-time favourites is Adam Grant- Give and Take.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I gave a speech to 1200 people about the importance of appreciation in our relationships. You can actually watch in on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z69USYo0itI), if you like!
Teach, Learn, Share
I read a lot of research papers so I have a habit to start often with a sentence "I read an interesting study....". If you want to learn about weird social psychological experiments, like marshmallow test, prison experiment, or Milgram's obedience to authority expreriment, I'm willing to share my knowledge.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love my home country (Finland) so I'm really happy to tell you everything about it what you'd like to know! Also, I'm pretty good at cooking banana pancakes for breakfast, so I promise to share that skill with you.
