Overview
About Me
After spending a year living on a boat in Florida and working for an international film festival in Minneapolis, I am taking the summer off before heading back to the east coast for a masters of landscape architecture. I am traveling around the United States visiting friends and spending two weeks in Korea, to experience the urbanism of Seoul and the contrasting Temple stay.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have surfed around the US, in Nashville, Memphis, Colorado, Seattle, and most recently upstate New York with some amazing people who welcomed me into their home with a blood-red beer recipe. Spending time getting to know another's version of a city, and exploring on my own, is an incredible experience. I appreciate the community and the exchange that is the basis of CS.
Side note, I have been unable to host personally as I have been living the "itinerant lifestyle" for the past five years and have not had my own lease. However, I plan to start hosting this fall in Philadelphia. Time to introduce some cool people on my own turf.
Interests
When not reading, I can be found strolling in the wilds and investigating native plant. In my free time I love to listen to music, recorded or live, and watch films.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many, but suffice it to say I love all three categories and much of my free time is spent engaging one or the other. A few favorite creators: Yorgos Lanthimos, Charles Mingus, Gaia Vance (Adventures in the Anthropocene-life changing).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snorkeling in Silfra, a rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Located in the Thingvellir National Park, the historic site of the Althingi. I have never seen water so clear, nor underwater (or surface) vegetation as beautiful.
When traveling in Texas, I saw the Milky Way so clearly out in Fort Davis Mountains at a Star Party. Plus, an incredible meteor shower with "dragon tails" against the horizon.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation (I hope), vegan food, music and film recommendations.
