I live in Briançon in the famous Serre-Chevalier Valley, Hautes-Alpes. I'm in the very heart of the regional natural parks of Queyras, Ecrins and Mercantour.
I'm currently working in the shoes and outdoor department of a sports shop. I'm a seasonal worker who is fortunate to always find long employment contratcs in order to make the most of the french region where I'm working !
I have to admit that I spend all my free time doing sports. For instance I'm not going out a lot because I had to get up at 5 in the morning to go hiking ! Earlier than the days when I'm going to work. Yes, such a weird choice, isn't it ? However I like spending time chilling at the bottom of a cliff or get together for a drink from time to time. I think I'm an easy-going and open-minded girl, even if I'm quite solitary. I put all my trust in my climbing partners, as for the others I'm... really nice !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard talking of Couchsurfing when I was doing research about the working holiday visa. I'd like to go to New Zealand and I'm sure I would be so pleased and relieved to spend time with a local : share his way of life, discover his surrounding area, make some friends, etc. That's why it seems normal to return the favour. What's more, meeting some travellers is an enriching experience and the beginning of a travel, isn't it ?

Interests

Climbing (Rock climbing, multi pitch routes, trad climbing), hiking and slacklining are my main hobbies. During winter time I'm practising ski touring, cross country skiing, ice climbing and... climbing (again !) near ice stalactite with numb fingers : so cool !
I'm a bookworm who, since a few years, have discovered the world of fantasy literature.
I also like cultural visits of towns, fortresses and museums. Opera and plays are musical entertainments which I'm interested in.

I have eclectic musical tastes such as celtic music, pop, rock, even classical music...
I like action and adventure movies, romantic comedies ! (Yes, I'm a girl after all !)
My bedside readings are mainly heroic fantasy books such as The sword of Truth by Goodkind, Royal Assassin by Hobb, The Belgariad and the Malloreon by Eddings to cite only those. I also like reading historical novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have had the opportunity to work in Chamonix Mont-Blanc for two years. I spent terrifying moments in mountains but also peaceful and in accord with nature.
I have done lots of amazing things during this period.
Watch the sunrise on the Mont-Blanc range after an ascent with a head lamp, in the company of deers, wild boars, marmots, chamois and eagles, go bivouacking in unlikely places.
