I was born and raised in Yemen. I moved to the United States when I was 15 years old. I lived in NYC for 8 years and now reside in Michigan.

Career: 👨🏽‍⚕️
I am a medical student. I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon, but anything can change during medical school. My goal is to provide equitable healthcare to my patients, especially those who come from underserved communities, like myself.

Interests: 🎨
I like to dance, sing, travel, model, eat, run, work out, and read. I like to party as much I like to meditate. I like to socialize as much as I like to isolate. I like to talk as much as I like to listen. I am a living contradiction ig. 😛

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on this app because I have experienced firsthand the amazing community that it has fostered around the world. When I was in Beirut, Lebanon, I had the pleasure of meeting my now dear friend Natalia. She is an avid couchsurfer. She invited me to different events and activities, so I got to meet many more couchsurfers through her. I was amazed at the level of generosity and open-mindedness of these people. Some local couchsurfers in Beirut drove us to different beaches, hosted us at their homes, and organized parties and gatherings, all for free!! These genuine human connections, far from money and interest, attracted me to this app. I naturally like to travel solo, be spontaneous and adventurous, and meet people who may be different than me. The experiences I create during my travels and the people I meet are the best thing about traveling for me. So I joined couchsurfing 🙃

I am a huge fan of music and art. I sing and listen to music from different genres and in different languages. Music is the language of the soul. 🎶

I also love reading in Arabic and English, as I am equally fluent in both. 😊

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have travelled 15 countries in 4 continents and met so many people from different cultures and backgrounds. 🧳 ✈️

Throughout it, I have exposed myself to different ways of living, different perspectives, and different life philosophies, and have grown tremendously because of my travels.

Traveling has allowed me to be open minded, inquisitive, adaptable, and compassionate. 😇

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have gathered knowledge and experience throughout my life journey. I grew up in Yemen, so I speak Arabic fluently. This proved to be immensely useful during my travels to Egypt and Lebanon. I also lived in NYC for 8 years and have learned the ins and outs of the city. I am open to hosting people when possible. I am also open to leading activities to connect with other couchsurfers. I am constantly moving around, so depending on where I am located in any given time, what I am able to offer may vary. Ultimately though, I am looking to extend a hand to someone, help them enjoy their travels, and build a genuine connection with another HUMAN🫀

I am also funny and social, and I love to dance and eat :)
