About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I have so many!
Off the top of my head:
Learn German, learn how to compose music. Travel by myself and with friends. Learn the history of the world (it's climates, geologies and it's peoples). The history of religion. The history of social change. Read more. Make more things with my hands. More colourful things. Make things slowly. Make them impulsively. To appreciate the small things in society, in relationships which are dismissed (the washing up, a friendly smile on the bus, honesty) - and to acknowledge all people as equal and human with their own wealths of unique knowledge and observations of the world. Appreciate what I have and to be open to change.

ABOUT ME

I'm fascinated by the way people create place. I find constant inspiration in the world around me.

PHILOSOPHY

A mind is never made - time changes every aspect, this is a cause for hope as well as the renegotiation of things once taken for granted - living life with open eyes and mind is the best education.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having hosted friends through my networks for ages informally I've only recently started using CS. I've had a great experience hosting people and look forward to meeting other lovely humans on my journeys through germany, france, england, iceland, canada and the US!

Essentially I want to meet people who live in and have learned the places I'm traveling to. Traveling for me is about the land and the people who belong to it. I hope to meet people who have stories to tell about the places we're in.

Interests

The universe.
Plants - history - story telling and listening; poetry, theatre, shared experience.
Dancing (especially in the kitchen)! Sunsets. History of religion. Empathy. Learning how to see the world through others eyes. To share journeys. Cheese. Tea. Music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite moments of being alive happened at Depot Beach NSW.
In the evening we drove down under a blue moon, swam in the dark waves of the beach under the stars, warmed our selves by fire and went to bed. Awaking in the morning to wander down to the surf for the dawn we watched a mother whale dance and play with her baby calf in the protected bay while kangaroos ate grass beside us on the beach and tall gumtrees stood behind us catching the golden morning light.
BLISS.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to bake! Give me an oven and I'll fill it with cakes or other such foods! I love the leisure of learning how to make new foods - so if you have a favourite and I don't already know how to make it I'm keen to learn it! At the moment I'm on a bit of a personal project to become more fluent in food and nutritional knowledge.

I am a respectful guest, I consider being hosted a great act of kindness and I feel strongly about being a polite and unobtrusive guest.
