About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meet amazing new people as I bootstrap my career as a playwright/activist
ABOUT ME
Easy going, great sense of humor, low maintenance, gone most of the time anyway. :-) By New Yorkers, I'm called the queen of nice.
I'm 6'1" so would appreciate warning of short couches/beds and low ceilings. I do fold up well when needed.
I am happy to provide references as to my general character and suitability as a guest, as needed.
PHILOSOPHY
Volo ut sis -- "I want you to be."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I surf, because I don't get many visitors to my town of 7,000 in Iowa. I'm not a hick, redneck or hillbilly though. I've been to 47 states and a half dozen foreign nations. I write. I have friends all over the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed two different places in Boston in early June, 2014 and had a wonderful experience at both places. I returned in May, 2015 to one of them and had an even better time.
Interests
When I couchsurf in a city, it is because I am working or attending a conference -- mostly trying to make playwright/activist a real job. I got along wonderfully with my first two hosts, and look forward to meeting others.
- theater
- performing arts
Music, Movies, and Books
I am very well read, quite open to new ideas, love classical, jazz, alternative, instrumental, fusion, new, '80s, older pop/rock than that, whatever is on at the time that doesn't chafe.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Little miracles happen to me all the time. I find the ocean amazing each time I see it -- Atlantic or Pacific.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm into theater, of course, and also the Shareable economy -- I'm community leader of my local time bank. I have meetings with people in theater and the Shareable economy, and I greatly look forward to both. I'm hoping it will still get some love and can be a performance to kick off great generative economy things throughout the nation -- time banks, barter systems, car shares, co-ops of all kinds, etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Perspective on the Midwest, art and music, great conversation, help around the house if needed and it fits my schedule, did I say stories, songs, laughter, possibility?
Also photography: I am a fair, award-winning photojournalist and would be happy to take some candid or planned photos of you and yours and deliver digital files.
