About Me

I just recently graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with degrees in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science. I did quite a bit of research in college on metaphor, humor, and Fragile X Syndrome.

I love talking with people about their studies or passions. I have had to take so many classes in Biology, I didn't get much opportunity to learn about other fields like anthropology, literature, the arts, etc. Ive learned just as much from my education as I have by talking with others.

Everyone has a best friend and mine is food. I love knowing where are the best places to eat, or who has the best home cooking 😛

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had a friend host a few people while living with me and I was hooked! I've hosted a few people myself and I can say its probably some of my favorite experiences!

Also the best way to learn about the city is from people who live there. Theres always more to a city than the tourist sites:)

Interests

Music, food, and comedy compete for the top of the list of my interests.

  • concerts
  • dancing
  • music
  • hiking
  • good food
  • biking
  • learning new things
  • exploring
  • comedy
  • good conversation

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

I am open, but I mostly listen to a broad range of electronic music, rap, hip-hop... But I listen to anything I can move to. Except country music.

Movies:

If I have time to watch a movie, I am probably watching a comedy or a documentary. The latest show I finished in a couple days was Ugly Delicious.

I am also known to watch the one-star movies on Netflix. Sometimes, movies are so bad they're good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's a tie between climbing the Matanuska Glacier and climbing to the top of an active volcano in Hawaii.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about languages. I don’t fluently know many languages, but I love learning bits and pieces.

I also love to learn about how culture influences traditional food and how globalization changes the tradition.

Everyone has a story to share and something to teach.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd like to say I've got a good sense of humor, I’m easy going, and a lot of fun.

I could also buy you coffee, beer, wine, lunch, dinner.. whatever you want!

Also, if you host me, you can bet I am willing to accommodate you if you come to California!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In
