About Me

My name is Anastasia and I’m 22 years old.
I’m an open minded person. I love getting to know people and I love to travel.
I enjoy life and try to find beauty in everything.
I major in linguistics and I’m fascinated with different cultures, their history, traditions and languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A few years ago my friend introduced me to this app, he often hosts people and even though I don’t have an opportunity to become a host at the moment, I got to spend time with his guests getting to know them and showing them around town. It’s a great opportunity to practice one’s language skills, get a glimpse of different cultures, hear amazing stories and also make friends from all over the world in the process.

Interests

I major in linguistics (I study English, Japanese and Spanish). I love astrophysics (thanks to Neil deGrasse Tyson) and science in general. I care a lot about environmental issues and equality. Somehow from not watching news at all I ended up being really engaged in politics but most of it is still uncharted territory for me. I’m always open to discussions and eager to learn new stuff. I enjoy stand-up comedy, political satire and listening to podcasts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love music and listen to basically everything from hip hop to show tunes no matter the language. I love going to concerts and to the theater (bonus points if it’s both aka musicals). I watch way too many tv shows and movies to be honest. My favorite book is Master and Margarita by M. Bulgakov. Harry Potter was a big part of my childhood so they pretty much share that number one spot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

nothing comes to mind, hopefully it’s still ahead of me

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Russian, I guess? Sharing stories and thoughts with people is probably one of the greatest gifts of all so there is that, I hope I have something intersecting to tell. I’m always ready to learn new ways and new things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My undying hope for a better world? Idk

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Georgia, Germany, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates
