About Me

My name is Nastya. I am a student from Russia, I came to the USA on an exchange program. I am currently studying at Valencia College (Orlando College, Florida). My major is International Relations, so it is important for me to learn new cultures, meet different people, learn something new. I play piano and ukulele, sometimes I sing cozy songs. I love comedies and horror films :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said earlier, for me, as a future diplomat, it is important to learn about culture through people's mouths. I would be very happy to meet people, learn something new for myself from them, and of course, give them useful information about Russia and about my homeland, the Republic of Buryatia. I am open to meeting people and ready to give something useful. Also, I'm on couchsurfing because hotel prices in America are a bit shocking haha

Music, Movies, and Books

I find pleasure in listening to R&B, dance, hip-hop, k-pop. Most of all I like The Weekend and Noah Cyrus! When it comes to books, I prefer the classics. I love Remarque and Dostoyevsky so much!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Without telling my parents, I applied to the university of my dreams in Moscow and got into it. I spent all my savings in order to prepare for the exams for entering this university, and I told my parents that I was just walking. I think it's a really amazing thing to do. Not to say that I'm proud of it, but my parents were delighted!

Teach, Learn, Share

I attach great importance to the opportunity to enter into communication with the culture of the United States, to learn more deeply about the mentality of the inhabitants and to get to know the English language; learn about the values of American life from their lips. With the help of the knowledge gained, I am ready to do everything possible to create a comfortable platform for the people of Russia in order to spread information about the cultural diversity of the United States.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It is also important for me that not only Russian citizens learn about the diversity of US culture, the traditions and rhythm of life of the people living there, but that people from other cultures learn as much as possible about my homeland. I want to become a worthy representative of my country and help you get to know Russia better. To do this, I am able to skillfully apply my social interaction skills, effectively use all opportunities to demonstrate the richness and diversity of Russian culture. It will be a great honor for me to talk about the customs and traditions of my country, answer questions about the rich Russian history, tell about interesting facts about living in Russia, and dispel some stereotypes about the life of Russian citizens. I can also sing some beautiful song while playing the ukulele :)
