About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Grow something without setting down roots.
ABOUT ME
I'm working on it. I'm not sure I trust anyone who isn't.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't let your mouth write no check that your tail can't cash. (Bo Didley)
it's more of an aspiration than a philosophy, but it's something to live by and that sort of counts, right?
Interests
Fresh dill and Isaac Brock's broken voice box and the sound of theremin in the morning, these are a few of my favorite things...

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to too much of The Kills, Modest Mouse, and The National. I get into obsessive listening loops, and I can listen to a single song for weeks until its vibrations are assimilated into my being and I can't stand it anymore.
But generally I dig the 'wave' genres(new wave, no wave, dark wave, cold wave...). And music has a definite geography. Some soundtracks make more sense in certain places. I know music is supposed to be boundless, but Delta Blues sounds better in Mississippi, and Bouzouki sounds natural and logical in Greece, and punk sounds sensible in New York, and Huayno makes no sense outside Peru...
Harold and Maude, Amelie, Submarine, Being John Malkovitch etc. Anything with Brian Froud in production design (Or David Bowie in spandex).
Things with unshakeable place on the favorites list for books are Sartre's Nausea, Autobiography of Red, Still Life with Woodpecker, and Terry Pratchett's whole Discworld series - but the reading list is ever-expanding, and the obsession of the week is a revolving door of cookbooks and memoirs and science writing and fantasy. Currently trying to memorize all of Vegetable Literacy by Deborah Madison.
