About Me

We are Andi (she/her) and Conner (he/him)! This is Andi's long-time profile, but we are excited to travel together and get Conner introduced to the wonderful world of Couchsurfing!

Andi: I'm a professional mushroom scientist, but I love spending my time learning ancestral skills and traditional crafts. I am in love with the natural world and I crave adventure! I value empathy, curiosity, independent-thinking, creativity, and connection.

Conner: Accountant by day, rockstar... in my dreams. When I'm not busy sniffing out variances on a financial statement I enjoy gaming, producing music, reading, and relaxing with my cat. I tend to gravitate towards people who are honest, easy-going, kind, and humorous. Show me your favorite fried foods, cheap drinks, and live music and we'll be fast friends. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing changed my life during a big solo adventure spanning 3 continents over 22 months in my early 20s! I have been very grateful to this community and the ways it has enriched my life. I am excited to be traveling with Conner now and to have the opportunity to have new adventures with my best friend/partner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Witnesses a total solar eclipse in Far North Queensland, Australia, 2012... I learned the true meaning of the word "awe".

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you all about mushrooms and other fungi, if that's interesting to you! I am also generally super interested in hand crafts and ancestral skills, like basket weaving, wild food foraging, herbal medicine, food preservation, food fermentation, gardening, animal hide tanning and leather works, pottery, etc.
