About Me

Life has given me lots of valuable experiences in relating to people, as a nurse, a foster/adoptive parent, a landlady, mother, wife, ex-wife, and on and on. I love people where they're at and try to emit positive light and energy to those around me. I'm pretty laid back and enjoy new experiences. My joy comes from helping others.
I am currently working as a travel case manager, so far I've been in northern Colorado and now headed to Richmond, VA. I'm hoping to enjoy both sides of couch-surfing through my travels. My home is in Iowa.
I believe that although happiness should be cultivated within our own being, it's people that can help or hurt our progress in the life skill.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not share my place and enjoy the openness of others?

Interests

Running is part of my daily life... I enjoy 4-6 miles per day most days of the week. I'm a mother to 6 beautiful children, 4 of whom are siblings that my ex husband and I adopted from foster care. I have a golden retriever named Gus, he's a red-head. I love connection, talking to and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like most music, typically alternative rock and modern jazz. I listen to trap, dub step and rap when I run.
Paulo Coehlo is my favorite author, haven't made it through all of his books yet though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the age of 22 I took in 4 children who I didn't know and a year later called them my own. It's taught me much of life and love

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach others about life as I know it, medical knowledge from years of nursing, parenting, gardening(to a point), cooking, baking, laying tile, changing the spark plugs on small gas engines and acceptance.
My life is a constant learning curve. I'm wanting to learn other languages along with finishing grad school.
Some of my most profound reflection happens when I run "unplugged."
