About Me

IMPORTANT WARNING IF YOU LOOK FOR A STAY IN VERONA!
I'm receiving a lot of requests from people who want to stay in Verona but my place is quite far from it and fits better for a stay on the western lake Garda. Verona can possibly be a secondary destination for an half day visit. The flat is located on the West coast of the lake, indeed, and in order to reach that city one has to take a 1h10 car ride or a combination of public transportation means like bus+train or ferry+bus. The fact, I guess, is that due to the proximity between the lake and Verona, CS shows the whole lake Garda as a possible accommodation for the travellers who looks expressly for Verona city. It could be a comfortable solution just in case you find a host on the South East coast (Lazise, Bardolino, Peschiera etc...) or in Desenzano, where several trains can take you to Verona in just 27 minutes.

---

I'm afraid I'm an artist or whatever. The most quiet and not-showy artist ever seen, anyway. Once I even had some non-misfit life.

GUEST MODE
I would like to use this CS thing to share music and beauty with hosts. I’m a quiet person, not noisy, not annoying, discreet. I would never dare to paint your walls with a color you don’t like. To know more please read the “Why I am on CS” section.

HOST MODE
I would like so much to receive interesting people in my own house close to the Po river, but for now this is not possible. Anyway I'd be pleased to host in a small flat that belongs to me and my family at the lake Garda, a place where I go quite often and is almost uninhabited from September to June. If you tell me about your trip dates I'll try to be at your disposal and spend time with you.

Due to the fact that I come to the lake just to host you, I’d prefer to find a good company for two or three days. So, welcome to all the lazy ones who love to share music, art, wine, talks and so on.

I can help you to avoid tourist traps like crappy restaurants, crowd and queues and find some relaxing place, even far away from the lake shore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have strings and make them talk. Record their voices. Build short architectures of sounds with their vibrations. Trap my music glimpses in files and folders, like fireflies in a jar. Then take on that jar. Avoid music sheets to fasten gestures and parts. Avoid stages to perform. Avoid music business mechanisms. Take a train, or a plane to reach you. And you open your house to host me. And we try to have some good connection and a talk. And we have to face my poor skill at talk in English, for sure. And I apologize more than once for this. We share thoughts and some drink, at last. Then I put the jar in your hands, as a gift. It's a magic jar, you see: is very light, almost two-dimensional and made of paper, and its content changes slowly. And, in the end, you'll have a magic item: a gate open on a continuously updated landscape of music. And that's why I'm on Couchsurfing. To deliver my jars, while looking for humans.

Music, Movies, and Books

At the Cannes Film Festival there is a section named "Un certain regard" (i.e.: "A peculiar point of view"). That's my address when I look for music, movies and books: to find some narrative or lyrical spark suitable to tickle my cerebral cortex.

Anyway, if I have to tell about my music cornerstones...
Without any order: several ECM artists, several Candyrat artists, a remarkable amount of guitar composers and performers: Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin, Ralph Towner, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Nguyen Le. Anouar Brahem (oud, lute). From the classical realm: Mauro Giuliani, Barrios Mangoré, Gilardino. Beyond the guitar obsession: Leos Janacek. Igor Stravinskij (neoclassical period overall). The Glenn Gould approach to the recording studio work. Ron Geesin. Terry Riley. John Cage. Jazz golems: Monk, Coltrane, Mingus... Canterbury scene. Yes, 1969-1977 Floyd. George Martin's Fab Four. Luscious songwriters like Suzanne Vega, Paul Simon. High quality pop rock from 80's and 90's, mainly from UK like Smiths, Cure, Blur, Violent Femmes, Supergrass...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, a waitress served to me a Nebbiolo at 9-10 ° C and I did not refuse it.

When I was 6 I kissed on the mouth an older girl. It seemed a good start but, at last, I never became a real latin lover.

Oh, and i quit a safe job in 2008, just before the Lehman Brother collapse and economic crisis, to follow my natural, unprofitable vocation. How clever.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My artbook and music. Not bulky things.

Croatia, Denmark, France, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
