Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Andrew and I am a student at the University of Massachusetts. I am studying to become a chemical engineer. No, I don’t want to pump more dead dinosaurs out of the ground to fuel our cars. I am actually interested in researching and developing new and more efficient battery technologies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the best things about traveling is meeting local people and having conversations with them. If I am staying at hotels all of the time then I never have the opportunity to learn from the locals. My hope is that being on Couchsurfing will open more opportunities to learn from the local community.

Music, Movies, and Books
C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien are some of my favorite authors!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have walked across burning coals without burning my feet. If you are interested in learning how, ask me about it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to play chess! I cary my chess board wherever I go.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great conversations! I love to listen and to learn. One of my rules for life is to assume that whoever I am talking to knows something that I do not. In this way I can always be open to learning new things.
I also love to cook and bake! If you have some spare time I would love to cook a meal or some cookies for a host!
