Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm interested in understanding cities and places from a local's point of view, making new friends, and seeing new places.

I have surfed couches all over the U.S. while I was doing youth environmental organizing. Now that I've gone back to school, I haven't been able to make enough time to surf or host. I'm committed to changing that! I can't currently host, but I am looking forward to being able to do so in the near future.

Interests

Live music, art galleries, reading, cooking, hiking, camping. I play a variety of stringed instruments; some of them well, most of them not so well.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: tons of things, from jazz to fingerstyle guitar to ska to downtempo, to belting out top-40 in a falsetto in the car. I appreciate different music cultures and want to learn more about what makes you passionate about yours. I love karaoke.

MOVIES: School of Rock, The Warriors, Primer, and Boyhood are the ones that come to mind. I also love a good documentary and lean toward independent movies with a bit of weirdness to them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good cook and would be happy to share a meal with you. I also can tell you about the California drought if you'd like to be depressed.
