Overview
About Me
I'm Angi, and right now, I’m traveling through Japan with my boyfriend Duggy. We're super excited to dive deeper into the real life and culture of Japan beyond the usual tourist spots. We love discovering hidden gems, especially when it comes to food (we're big foodies :D), and would love to hear any local recommendations you might have. We're here until the 14th of October 2024 and are eager to experience as much as we can!
Love to learn, talk, discover and also share our experiences with you :-)
We both live in Hamburg, Germany.
I‘m a copywriter and Duggy is a process engineer.
We're excited and happy to meet you soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that the best way to truly experience a place is through the people who live there. It’s not just about discovering new places, but about connecting with locals, sharing stories, and exchanging ideas.
I love meeting people from all over the world, learning about their cultures, traditions, and worldviews. For me, Couchsurfing is a way to break down barriers, gain new perspectives, and find common ground with others, whether it’s over a meal, a conversation, or exploring hidden gems together.
It’s these authentic experiences that make traveling so special and meaningful!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm very enthusiastic about a lot of things and always open to discovering new music, books, and movies. I absolutely love Haruki Murakami's books and am a big fan of Studio Ghibli films — their magical storytelling really speaks to me.
When it comes to music, I enjoy exploring different genres from all over the world and love adding new songs to my Spotify playlists. My Japanese playlist, in particular, has grown the most, and I'm always on the lookout for more great tracks to add!
If you have any favorite songs or artists, feel free to share them with me — I'd love to check them out!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled 6 weeks Viet Nam by motorbike. Really amazing experiences, because Duggy has locals in Vietnam and he also talks vietnamese. It helped us to get in contact with locals who don’t speak english. We could see the daily life of vietnamese people, their different culture and beautiful secret places :)
Traveled 3 months trough Japan by hitchhiking and couchsurfing. We met wonderful people on our way and got to hear exciting stories from them. Visiting a dormant volcano or got invited to a english school class. We're happy to share some of our experiences with you.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can teach you German, English and Vietnamese. We can share our knowledge!
Also we can tell you about our life in Germany if you are interested.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to exchange stories and experiences! I can share insights about life in Germany, including what it's like living with an Dog (our loyal and fluffy companion Natsu).
If you're interested, I can also offer some perspectives on Germany's political landscape, the economy, and the ongoing energy transition toward renewable resources. We’re happy to chat about anything from everyday life in Europe to deeper conversations on global challenges and cultural differences. Plus, we’re always curious to learn from others, so it’s a mutual exchange.
