About Me

I've been married for just about 34 years to my wonderful husband. We have two grown children. We recently sold our circa 1890's Victorian era home and are now renting to give us the freedom to travel without the strings to home repair and renovation. We spent 20 years renovating the home we just sold - it's now time to go and play.

I enjoy volunteering at a local ReUse Center - I love helping out wherever I'm needed there. It truly is a joy and is very fulfilling.

We purchased a Honda Goldwing GL1800 a few years ago. Now we plan to take our Goldwing and travel the USA and see as much of our beautiful country as we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband & I are taking a 3 week trip across country. We are riding our Honda Goldwing motorcycle with a small trailer. After traveling down the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia & North Carolina, we are going to visit our daughter & son-in-law in New Orleans. After a few days of enjoying the Big Easy, we will be heading over to Phoenix AZ to visit our son for a few days. From there we will be going to the Grand Canyon and then heading north towards Omaha, Nebraska. Our next stop will be in Chicago, then over to Toledo, OH to attend a family reunion. This is a three week trip we have planned.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy classic rock music from the 70's. The books I read are typically non-fiction - I like to learn how to do something rather than escape when reading. My favorite movie(s) are Lady & the Tramp and Beauty & the Beast. (I know, I'll never grow up!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't really lived much of a life of adventure, however, we are just beginning to travel now that we are home-ownership free and are at the stage in life where we can travel and go and enjoy all those things that were on our "someday we will...." list.
We did go para-sailing last summer over Lake George, NY - for the first time. It was amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy up cycling old furniture and decor. I can see the beauty in old cast-offs and create something beautiful out of them rather then they end up in the landfill. I also enjoy many different types of crafts: scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, upholstery, cross stitch, stamping, jewelry making, just to name a few.

I also enjoy flower gardening, home design and decorating and I am a phenomenal organizer. I love to sort through a mess and make wonderful sense out of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy visiting new places and meeting people. I can share my gift of organization. I also just like to have fun, relax, hang out, and I have a fantastic listening ear.
