Overview
About Me
We are a small family of three.
Anja: Iam working as a part time scientific officer/lecturer at the university.
Felix: I am working as a project manager / IT manager for a regional energy supplier. With a standard 9 to 5 office job like that, I am very eager to spend the little free time I got with my family outside enjoying the pure beauty off nature. Since we all love trips a lot, we try to get out at least once a week discovering new places, hiking through the woods or just enyoing delicious ice cream by the river ;-)
I am passionate for everything handcrafted and I especially love wood working. Therefore one of my favorite things to do is snooping around flea markets for hours looking for old things I can repair or restore.
As you can see, I have a typical IT-guy-set of hobbys and interests ;-)
Oh, and did I mention that I love to eat? No? Well, I love food very much! I am not that good a cook, but I am a quick learner...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
During our trips we want to get to know the world as well as the people living in it. What better way is there to combine these two goals then CS ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Anja: I´ve been to a pretty unknown but quite big Russian city (Ufa, Bashkiria) for one semester during my studies. Pretty adventurous since noone there spoke neither English nore German and I was still learning Russian. During that stay I also got to know St. Petersburg, till this day my very favorite city. I´m so into the architecture, museums, culture...
Felix: Last year I spend four days on a survival trip in the woods. Four days without food, water or shelter. Everything had to be made, gathered or built. And I can say, it was...awesome. No kidding, it was a really profound experience the grounded me on so many levels. Going with just a tiny amount of food for three to four days gave me a whole new perspective on how wasteful we consume food. Furthermore I experienced a completely unknown form of team work. Seeing people that know each other for just a few hours sharing everything they have helping each other building shelters trying to fight the cold amazed me deeply. Have not seen such effort during my working hour in years ;-) I could go one like that, but I'll leave something to talk about if we meet in person!
