About Me
Love the mountains, hiking, gardening, reading, tribal-style bellydancing. Have lived in Los Angeles, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, upstate NY, now southwest Virginia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've got wanderlust and I have to find a way without a lot of money. I may be migrating west in the next few years and I want to explore before I settle down. My daughter suggested I try couchsurfing and I'm intrigued.
Music, Movies, and Books
Rising Appalachia, Little Feat, John Prine, Jazzabelles, Sharon Knight. Groundhog Day, About Time, 10th Kingdom, Handmaid's Tale, Home for the Holidays. Southbound (hiking book by the Barefoot Sisters), Dune, The Fifth Sacred Thing, Prodigal Summer, Animal Vegetable Miracle, any Charles DeLint, Richard Brautigan, N K Jemisin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I drove cross country, from New York to California and back, with my fourteen year old daughter as navigator. We tried to visit all the places I'd loved as a child--Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Disneyland, the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco--and stopped anywhere that took our fancy, hit our funnybone, or was recommended by a complete stranger.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I'd really like to learn is how to design and build a simple home.
I love Bellydancing and I have some experience adjusting moves to accommodate less-than-perfect physiques and teaching one-hour crash courses.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My love of the mountains, a short bellydance class, I wash dishes, weed gardens.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden
