About Me

CURRENTLY: embarking on a 5 month, 48 state road trip across the United States for work/fun.

I'm a 27 year old female and recent college graduate. I'm working with my mom on our startup - a linen towel company with an emphasis on environmental benefits.

I love to draw, build furniture while listening to NPR, read and learn about all aspects of design. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people and learning what they're passionate about. I'm happiest outdoors -- hiking, rock climbing and exploring. I'm not musical, but I really enjoy listening to music. I love to spend time with my friends and cook for them. I like to stay busy but I've started to learn how to meditate -- because it's all about balance.

In terms of couchsurfing: I'm really easy going. I love animals so pets are great. In fact they're preferred. Just looking for a shower and a place to crash. I love suggestions of places to see and things to do but I'm also really okay with finding my own way around and entertaining myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couch surfing because I believe in giving what and when you can. I love meeting new people learning from others. The best gifts I've ever received were ones that held no monetary value.

During the road trip, I'll be meeting friends and family at some points but in the mean time, I'll be couch surfing and camping. The road trip is 50% fun and 50% work. My mother and I own goodlinens. We design and sell 100% linen bath, kitchen and travel towels. They're exfoliating, durable, great for travel, and most importantly, they're ecofriendly in their use and manufacture. We think that everyone should be using one of these and are trying to spread the good word across the United States.

Interests

In general, I love to create. That's very broad, but I'm just as happy in a wood shop as I am knitting with my grandma, cooking a meal for friends or gardening. I love a good challenge but always take the time to relax when I can.

I recently graduated with a degree in industrial design. I always love to talk and learn about all aspects of building, design and engineering.

I have always loved to travel but fell in love with it more on a recent trip to Southeast Asia. Traveling combines a lot of my interests: meeting new people, taking pictures, exploring new places, eating different foods and being outdoors.

I love to give back and help others. One of my favorite things I've ever done is build houses in Kentucky.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm listening to almost everything at the moment from jazz to rock to whatever is on the radio and whatever Spotify throws at me. This road trip also has me listening to tons of podcasts and NPR. I'm always open to new music and podcast recommendations. 30,000 miles means a ton of free time.

I've been a reading fanatic since I was little. I usually read two books simultaneously, one fiction and one non fiction. Right now it's Mindfulness and Kafka on the Shore.

I've watched very little movies and TV lately but I'm always watching Shark Tank with my grandpa on Fridays. I do love going to the movies though. The last movies I watched were Brooklyn and Spotlight. Both were great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I planned an "introduction to solo female travel" trip in Southeast Asia. It was supposed to be a few days here and few days there alone but I ended up spending the majority of the time country hoping by myself and completely fell in love with travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn from other and teach as well. I love to share stories of travel and hear about other peoples advaneutes. I would love to cook with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll be bringing some good stories, a great attitude and a FREE linen product from goodlinens!
