I used to be someone content to just stay at home and read a good book. Then I took a flight to Europe and now I can't get far enough from home fast enough.

Right now I'm traveling through Spain with my father, discovering my roots, relearning my mother tongue, and taking him to see where my great grandmother was born.

I'm on Couchsurfing to learn more about the world. I'm traveling to step out (way way way out) of my comfort zone and to see a more organic and genuine side of the cities that tourists don't get to experience on tours and in hotels.

I want to host travelers to learn and broaden my world view. I love stories and I love hearing about people's experiences while traveling and as a writer I believe that the best way to write about people is to talk them and learn from them.

I've sat at the Trevi fountain and sketched the statues for hours. It sounds a bit boring but it was the most spectacular thing I feel like I've done in Europe.

I'm an artist first and foremost and I like to think I see the world a little differently than most. I see beauty in things that others overlook and I hope I can share those things with surfers and hosts.
I love literature and pop culture and I love to discuss the impact that modern television and books have on society. I can talk for hours about the histories of the Lord of the Rings Universe, the historical events that inspired the bloodiest moments in Game of Thrones and the connection that modern day comics have to ancient mythologies.
I love talking about how important representation in media is and how, as a writer as well I hope to write diverse and
realistic fiction.

I've been traveling for a month so far and I started a new sketchbook at the beginning of September. I've made it a point to sketch something in every city I've been in and so far I'm a little more than half way through the book and I have so many stories to share about each page in my book.
