Hello,

I'm a 24-year-old living in Brooklyn NY. I work in the music industry and am currently between jobs - I'm trying to go on a trip before starting a new one. Most recently I was a talent scout for a record label in NY. I really liked this job because NY has so many things going on all the time that sometimes it can be overwhelming. So it was great because I like to to know what artists are playing around town on a given night. I would consider myself a Poptivist/poptimist :D Pop-culture definitely excites me.

On a personality note: I am a very outgoing and energetic person. I really love people - whether they be close friends or new acquaintances. There is always so much joy and learning with new interactions in unfamiliar places. Traveling and people often energize me, and this is a large part of the reason why I am drawn to trying Couchsurfing. While I love people, I am also very independent and love exploring and getting lost on my own.

I'm BRAND NEW to Couch Surfing but I've always wanted to try it. I've heard so many great stories from friends who have both stayed and hosted and now as I gear up for a trip, I would really like to give it a go for myself. I really like the Karmic idea behind it, and as I make my way to Chicago, for the first time as well, it seems like the perfect time to have a bunch of first time experiences.

Music: I really love Hip Hop and R&B! But am a fan of a really broad range of genres. If you wanted to talk music all day I would be very down to engage that! The last Album that I cannot stop listening to has been "The big Fish Theory" by Vince Staples .

Movies: Not as well versed in film, but I do enjoy a good movie - maybe you can recommend some. The last films I saw in theatre were "Moonlight" and "I Am Not Your Negro" - loved them both!

Books: I love to read - I love novels, nonfiction, critical theory, self-help books :) , and graphic novels
