Overview
About Me
I'm a journalist, world traveler, and community and political activist. I'm part of the affordable housing movement in New York, president of my tenant association. I've lived on the Upper West Side for the 50 years. My husband died early this year--very peacefully, in his sleep, at age 88.
I live with my dog Bonita, a 10-year-old loving and sweet pit mix, and I work on freelance editorial projects. I travel when I can.
I enjoy New York culture: museums, ballet, theater, especially Off Broadway. My daughter Emmy lives in Detroit.
I'm a minimalist. I walk a lot. I've been blessed with good health.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend who knows me well described her experience as a couchsurfer and said she's pretty sure I'd like it too. Also, I've been hosted around the world by so many wonderful people over the years. I'm always happy to reciprocate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got arrested at age 75 for disorderly conduct in the New York Governor's Office during an affordable housing demonstration.
