About Me
(I know my response rate is a bit poor hahah - I will reply to you if you have sincere questions about Finland etc. just don't have time to answer to "hi how are you" messages, sorry!)
Hiya!
I'm Anni, a 20-year-old adventurer from Finland. Currently I'm living and studying in Inverness in Scotland. I live in the dorms so unfortunately I'm not able to host at the moment, but I'm more than happy to show you around the town!
I'd like to think myself as a kind-hearted and open-minded person who enjoys meeting people from different cultures. During my trips I've learned that living and eating with local people and learning the language gives you so much more than a basic tourist holiday.
When I was 15, I had my first adventure by myself as I made a journey around Finland by bus in 10 days. After that I travelled to Budapest with my friends for a week and last year I made a few trips: 10 days in Madrid and Lisbon, 10 days interrailing through Europe by bus, 9 weeks volunteering in Tanzania and a 3-week vacation in Vietnam.
I believe that life will bring us to where we should be - not closer, not further. So I kinda always just go with the flow.
You can find me on Facebook as Anni Grönberg and Instagram as kronperk!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The most important motto in my life is; pay it forward. I've been following that rule from the day I was hichhiking and offered money for the ride but the man just asked to do a favour to someone else. And I think couchsurfing isn't just about offering a bed to some stranger. It's about connecting two cultures, hearing stories from all over the world, sharing your knowledge and possibly making very meaningful relationships (or just having a good time for a day or two!). I couldn't be more grateful to be able to have many places I can call home in this world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled around Tanzania for 2 months: From Arusha 16-hour bus ride (that broke down for a few times, t.ex. we spent 4 hours in the desert) to Loliondo, 5 weeks volunteering in a orphanage and school there, visiting Maasai villages, meeting different tribes and drinking tea in their mudhouses. 10-hour bus ride back to Arusha and 14 hours to Dar Es Salaam and 2 hours to Zanzibar, spending the rest 3 weeks living in a house without running water or electricity, sleeping under the stars, swimming in the Indian Ocean in the middle of the night while watching the most beautiful night sky.
