About Me

Hey! I am a student at the University of Edinburgh, and I'm currently working and generally hanging out this summer. Message me if you want to hang out or have an adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a college/university student, I don't have ample funds to spend on traveling, but I don't want that to stop me doing what I love: exploring new cities and having adventures.

Interests

I love to travel, meet new people from all over the world, and just get out there and explore! Adventures are the best way to make friends and get to know the people you're with. However, I also love sitting and chatting in coffee shops over an afternoon cuppa and a slice of cake. Food is also one of my biggest passions.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love, love, love reading, but I don't always get enough time to do it. My favorite books are, and will probably always be, Harry Potter, but other books I have enjoyed and cherish are 100 Years in Solitude, A Fine Balance, Paris: the Novel, the Hunger Games, and Wuthering Heights. As for movies, my solid favorites are the Lord of the Rings, but also up there are Napoleon Dynamite, School of Rock, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, and She's the Man (a mix of everything really). And finally music! Coldplay has been my all-time favorite for a while now, but Florence + the Machine holds a special place in my heart as well. And there are so many more that I can't even list right now!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I chose to go to a university outside of the USA right after I graduated high school! It's probably the craziest thing I've ever done: move to a completely new country, where I don't know anyone, and have a completely awesome time with the people I've met there. My next amazing thing: tackle living in my third country (Spain) before I'm 21!

Teach, Learn, Share

Throughout my travels and living in different places, I believe I have become so much more open-minded, which I know is a very cliche thing to say. However, it is honestly true, and no one can anticipate the things they will learn when traveling the globe and meeting its many inhabitants. I have been lucky enough to build up a strong friend base in the UK, and I hope to continue making new friends in all the countries I visit!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Just a disclaimer: I am usually pretty shy and quiet when people first meet me, but don't let that fool you into thinking that's how I always am! When I stay with new people, I want to strive to make the experience as positive and fun as possible, which means I tend to be overly cautious, polite, and distant at first. However, I want to get to know YOU! Because people live in such cool cities around the world, and part of the exploring the cities is meeting and appreciating the people that live in them!
